When Bad Eyebrows Attack

There are a few important milestones in a young woman's life - your first crush, your first kiss, your first big achievement, and .... your first beauty fail.

You know, like when you decide to pluck your eyebrows even though your mother tells you that you do NOT need to pluck them and to PLEASE not pluck them.

And then, you know, like when you not just pluck them, but HACK AWAY at your poor little eyebrows until they look like Edward Scissorhands had his way with them.

Yeah, like that.

Welcome to your first beauty fail, Ellie. You have much to learn, young Jedi.

Muy Bien, Taco!

And it's Jack for the Win! Jack and Ellie had a great time at their week-long Master Chef competition. And lo and behold, Jack's team won! His technique? Our picky eater didn't taste a SINGLE ONE of his own creations. So, you know, that's one way to approach the culinary arts.

In related news, Jack has announced that he'd like to be referred to as "Taco." Because, well, who wouldn't.

Oops, I did it again

Oh yes I did.

Oh yes I did it again.
And I LOVE it.

Did I mention dog hair?

Say hello to our little sleepover buddy:

The other weekend, we got to host Peter and Robyn's puppy Scout. She brought with her all kinds of sweetness and love and energy and dog hair. And doggie kisses and hugs and dog hair. And lovey dovey goodness and dog hair.

Did I mention dog hair?

Goodbye, Elementary School!

Well, put a fork in her, Ellie is DONE with elementary school! Recently, we got to attend her 5th grade graduation ceremony, officially ending elementary school and welcoming her to the world of acne-and-angst-ridden middle school. Ellie's school went all out, too - in addition to the ceremony, there was a party and a carnival and all sorts of over-the-top celebrations. And now, we get to take a little summer breather before we start the drama that is middle school. Congratulations, Ellie!

You Know You're Tired When...

You know you’re tired when ... you spend several minutes trying to figure out what an “ontinue” is and thinking what an odd name that is for a mascot

Hello, Lover

Hello, Lover.
This darling was my Mother's Day present (from me, because I can, dammit).
I love it.
Is it wrong to have lovey gushy feelings for a typewriter?
Well, if it's wrong, then I don't wanna be right, because I love it!

Cuddles

That's it.
Just cuddles.
You're welcome.

Guitar Hero

I'm happy to report that we went to Jack's guitar concert and .... it didn't hurt our ears! In fact, the kids did a really great job. I'd like to say that Jack did an especially good job, but frankly, who can tell one guitar from a sea of guitars. But still, he LOOKED like he was doing an especially good job! Way to go, Guitar Jack!
