Crazytown (Pt 5)

Pick up a jigsaw puzzle, I thought. The family can work on it periodically throughout our quarantine, I thought.

Silly, silly Lydia.

Silly, silly Lydia forgot the obsessive personality of her husband.

Who sat down to the jigsaw puzzle .... and never got up.

Two days later, we got reacquainted with our husband and father, who emerged from Jigsaw Insanity to the real world.

Lesson learned.

Crazytown (Pt 4)

Yeah, still no toilet paper to be found.

On a totally unrelated topic, which would you consider to be more absorbent - college rule, wide rule, or graph paper?

Asking for a friend

Crazytown (Pt 3)

But there are sometimes upsides to Coronavirus Crazytown (but yeah, it's still mainly just Crazytown)

Free curbside delivery at Cookies & Cream - cookie and ice cream goodness without even getting out of my car? Yes, please!

Family togetherness - for now - trust me, we'll be strangling each other within a week - but for now, cuddly goodness

Kids doing chores - and yeah, I know that won't last long either - but I'll take it where I can find it!

Delicious treats from Ellie (if you don't mind cleaning up after her)

Crazytown (Pt 2)

There's been a run on the stores. Not even a square of toilet paper to be found.

Did I mention this is turning into Crazytown?

So I thought I’d avoid the crazy stores and order groceries online. So, not surprisingly, my “shopper” is texting me with out-of-stock items and suggested substitutes.
Out of this brand of cheese - is this brand ok? Of course.
Out of scallions - leeks ok? ok, that’s close enough.
Out of crinkle cut fries - how about fish sticks? I guess because they’re both fried?
No broccoli, but we do have collard greens - both green I guess?
No potatoes but we do have ... mangoes.’
No hamburger, but we do have corned beef.
So pretty much I have NO clue what is coming to my house. It’s an adventure! Now it’s time to Google recipes with corned beef, leeks, and mangoes!
Update - yeah, the order never came

Welcome to Crazytown

All aboard the crazy train.

So there's this respiratory virus they've named Coronavirus. It's highly contagious, and can be dangerous for older people and people with existing health conditions. It's spreading quickly, so governments are jumping in to take measures to slow it down. Those measures include some that, IMHO, are going to head this family straight into Crazytown.

They've canceled school for the next four weeks - and indicated it might go beyond that.
They're closing down restaurants and bars, they're canceling events with - used to be 250 people, then 50 people, now as little as 10 people.
They're urging you to stay at home and avoid contact with anyone outside your family.

Yup, Crazytown, I tell you.

And the Sorensons all stuck together in the house?

Yup, it's going to be a hostage situation up in these parts.

Ever read "Lord of the Flies"? Don't worry, we'll be reenacting it pretty soon.

Welcome to Crazytown.

My Precious

We just got some perty new bookshelves, so it was time for Book Purge #12 - I've purged each time I've moved over the years.

And yes, it hurts. You might find me rocking in the corner like Gollum, muttering “my precious.” Luckily my Kindle books don’t need to be purged or there might be bloodshed.

Awkward

When, on your way back from a colonoscopy, you write your son Jack a NSFW- and TMI-filled text about the impressiveness of your colon
...And then discover that there is more than one "Jack" in your contacts list
