End of School 2021-22

 It's a wrap.

What a weird, weird school year.

Sometimes really crappy, sometimes pretty awesome.

But totally weird.

Jack just finished 10th grade at Stone Bridge High School. As you can see, he's pretty darn happy about it. 

And Oliver is pretty darn happy to have him back home. 

Ellie just finished 8th grade at Trailside Middle School, and will be joining Jack at Stone Bridge next year. She grudgingly allowed a photo, so I'll take what I can get. 

Congratulations, Jack and Ellie! Here's to a not-so-weird school year next year!

Hello, New Driver!

 See this guy? This guy just got his learners' permit (a little late due to COVID), and is legally allowed to drive with an adult in the car. 

Jack has practiced driving just about every day since then. And during that process, we have learned three very important things:

(1) Young Jack is actually a pretty darn good driver - who knew!

(2) Papa Jared is actually a pretty darn good driving instructor - now really, WHO KNEW!

(3) Mama Lydia is actually a HORRIBLE driving instructor, and it's really best if she just not be in the car with a student driver - let's face it, we probably knew this would happen

Yeah, I clutch the arm rests, I gasp, I mutter, I just basically lose my ever-lovin' mind. So yeah, lesson learned - Lydia can't teach the kids to drive. Luckily we have Jared around to do it. 

Now just 9 more months of this and Young Jack will be on his own on the streets of Ashburn!
